Given my site isn't exactly a complete photography site and in fact most of the shots on the site haven't been taken with an SLR, I still thought I would share my new website. I want to get a lot more photography based, especially on my blog pages as I add new photos and experiement with my new XTi.. I do have plenty of photos however and hope that some of you can enjoy looking at them.

SLR vs PAS isn't as important in my opinion as the head and hands used to weild it. You have captured some awesome images of the stoms in your area.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the compliment Swanson, I'm hoping being able to shoot more manually now with the XTi that I can get even better captures. Cyclone, I'm thinking that you may have went to Iowa State with a name like that?!? Or you just a fan??

Class of 1988. My name here probably fits you better, being at student at Iowa State and a storm chaser to boot. ;)

Very Nice site. Im originally from eastern IA. myself. I chase alot of storms but mainly for lightning photos, as here in IL there are even less tornados. I am thinking of heading down to OK City and follow some storm chasing outfits to finally get some tornado images this year if work is slow. I just recently made a lightning trigger that fires my 20D from lightning flashes vs having to do timed exposures.

PAS, some nice lightning photos yourself! Also a nice article on 'how' to capture lightning images...

If you are ever interested in chasing you can always get a hold of me as well, as usually if its' anywhere in the northern plains I'm interested in going. I'm getting a pretty good setup of gear for storm chasing, you can read on my 'equipment' page for all of that info.

Thanks, All my lightning images are from this past year. Its a fairly new obcession I have and really enjoy it.
If something pops up in IA. tornado-wise Id be up for a chase. I have weekends off and basically late spring thru late summer work is slow for me during the week being the the school photography business. Im hoping to do alot of chasing this year for lightning and hope there will be some tornado action on the weekends.

My lightning trigger is actually wireless. I can mount the sensor and transmitter anywhere and keep the camera somewhat sheilded during heavy rain. I still have yet to do in-the-feild testing but its built almost exactly as the commercial one selling for just under $400 online. The range on the lightning sensor is 1000' but Im guessing farther since lightning is more intense than a studio strobe flash.
