Lol, actually, there are stairs that go all the way to the top. You look in and can see the trash everyone has thrown in. I used to be able to see Mt. Fuji from my house. I think we were about 150 miles away, not sure. A very beautiful mountain, my favorite. And sushi sucks! Are you sure about those stairs to the top? I've climbed it 10 times and the only stairs I saw were maybe 20 or so at the very begining of the ascent. And the trash situation has vastly improved, although it's still somewhat of a problem.
