I'm still learning the ropes on my new XT, but here are a few from this weekend. Just random candid stuff. The first two involved an unsharpen mask, some cropping (lots in #2) and curve adjustments. The last is obviously a BW conversion.

Let me know what you think, CC welcome :)

They all look good...
The third one could benefit from some flash or added light, although i do like her expression.

The second one has a distracting shiny area in the background right above her head...

Just my opinion!

Keep working with it, though. you've got some neat ideas!

Thanks. Maybe I can try to work on my PS skills and take that light out on #2.

That would be my strategy. And then again, they are just snapshots to capture the moment of what's going on right then. I have no experience with PS, but it is going to be my next purchase, i believe. Waiting for the CS3, if i can wait it out!

I kind of like the third one the lack of light adds to the mood and makes it more intimate.

Something about the light/colors that really dray my eye to 2. I think that it is the red color in the background and the way that it accents her hair. Or I could be crazy.

What I like about the first two shots is the mystery. In the first one, what are they looking at? In the second, what is she sitting on and what is the emotion? It's hard to pinpoint, that's what keeps me looking.

Perhaps a tighter crop on your daughter, none the less she is beautiful
