I was shooting a motox race and this stopped the race . the patient wasn't hurt real bad it was just that he had a compound fracture and they didn't want an infection so they rushed him out . made for an interesting few minutes . I waled over close to the heli. and the track promoter yelled at me ( joking) and said my track pass wouldnt get me a ride on the heli. lol

Boy, it has really taken off around here as a sport young kids are interested in. Kinda scary when you think of the euipment some of them are using. Don't have any kids of my own, but i do feel like the danger and risk is astronomical, JMO.

As an avid rider, I can say that most of the accidents I've been around while riding with friends where it involves a bike and a car or other large object almost always require a helicopter ride for the rider. I'm sure it is mostly due to the remoteness of where we ride on roads, but the health issues and unseen health issues from an accident on a motorcycle almost require the faster mode of travel that flight affords.

You always hate to see it, but at least the rider is getting the care he needs quicker than being put in the back of an ambulance.

Great shots. Any word on the rider's outcome beyond the fracture?
