I bought one on the advice of members and I am very pleased I did. Just look at the pics on this post... if that doesn't sell it to you then the fact that it also has a macro facility should.

But the pictures on this site rocks! It seems wierd.. I think that the 55-200 and the 70-300 are both great value lenses from Sigma and you would be getting a quality product either way. The members of this forum, however, cannot tell you what your needs are along the lines of focal length - only you know that and you have to choose the best option for you and what you are shooting.

I think that you are making a good choice - its a great lens.

The macro function works well but people are right, if you really want to shoot those bugs and close shots this lens will only get you upset you can't get closer and have better detail.
