Thanks Dragon. Yeah, I had heard the same thing at our Memphis show, that the real grave digger driver was elsewhere as well.

Your point about the distance and 'air junk' looks dead on. That was the first thing I thought when I was looking at your shots, that there must've been lots of dust and smoke in the air. Considering that and your shooting distance, I think you did quite well.

The suite I was in pretty much put me right on top of the action at our show, and there were many times I wish I would've had my 35 f/1.4 or my 17-40. But their #*&$ lens restrictions prevented me from bringing them along.

Regards

Couple of DSLRs, number of lenses and other stuff... plenty short on talent.

Why would they have a lens length restriction? I can see maybe a restriction on something 6 or 8 inches long... but 3?

Well, I'm not sure, but I could think of a couple of possible reasons. Maybe to reduce the possibility of distracting those around you (blocking views possibly?). Or could their be a NBA rights/privacy thing on all games? I've not checked for other arenas or NBA guidelines, so simply just guessing here.

Anyway, here's the fedex forum link that puts it in print. Scroll down a bit to "Cameras, Video Cameras, Audio Recorders".

mmm... I found this blurb on the Rogers Center site:

"Cameras and Recording Devices
Personal cameras are permitted to most Rogers Centre events provided their use does not interfere with other guests’ enjoyment."

Oh well... Just gotta find a good zoom <3 inch lens. :) Do they actualy break out a ruler and measure it?

Tampa :D

If you scroll through these pages, you can see some pics of that show (and I happen to appear in two candid photos!). His son was actually driving, but Dennis was on hand.
