hey everyone,

can anyone tell me why they removed the numerical value for adjusting the dynamic range in DPP v.2
ugh
it's the only reason i haven't purchased the new 30d and won't be purchasing any other new canon product.

i know i know there are alot of better RAW conversion software out there but i like using DPP v.1

can anyone tell me if i'm just missing it and that i can actually adjust dynamic ranges using numerical settings?

sorry if this is confusing

thanks!

Seems a bit rash...

Not that I know of, but you can still drag the slider to where you want to....

ugh...the slider doesn't give as precise range as numerical values...
:(

That has to be the first time I've heard of a raw converter being a deal breaker for an upgrade. luckily there is very little difference between the 20D and 30D, so you aren't missing much.

i have an EOS 5D and the new version of DPP which is how i know about the lack of the dynamic adjustment...i just know from a shoot-to-end-result...if the new DPP had the number value available ...pics with my 5D would be EXCEPTIONALLY better...
i hate the fact that i have to rely on a slider that gives me "cpu guessed best possible ratios".

just my 2 cents...

HEY CANON BRING BACK THE NUMERICAL VALUE ADJUSTMENT FOR THE DYNAMIC RANGE!!!

also i don't need the 30d...i'll wait til the new 40d comes out and possibly make the jump to that but...
maybe not...

I've only used the most current version of DPP and use the slider for adjustment. It seems to do the job. With the old version that you enter it numerically, how do you know what number to plug in?

Megapixels and high ISO are a digital photographers heroin. Once you have a little, you just want more and more. It doesn't stop until your bank account is run dry.

C'mon René, everyone knows it's the camera and software that takes a good picture. :)
