Referring to my archived post:

I still have 8 months for 5D to drop 20% in price and the prophecy will be fulfilled!

What do you think the chances are?

I don't see it happening for the 5D as it has dropped quite a bit in price already, but you never know.:)

What are you talking about. It's already happened. They are out there for as low as $1399.

You never stated that B&H has to have it for under 2k. ;):)

BTW, I love the resellers ratings on the last site. century21electronics gets a 5 star rating and resellers gives it a .61. Maybe we need to start rating the raters. ;)

5D is currently selling for $2700 (can't consider rebates as normal price). The 5D is ending the end of its 18 month life cycle, so I don't see Canon dropping the price much lower than what it already is. Looks like $500 is about the amount that they drop. 1DMkIIN was selling for $3999 at B&H and its roughly selling for $3500 now ($500 drop). 5D was selling for $3200 when it was first introduced, and selling at $2700 currently (again a $500 drop). I think by 2010 you will have the possibility of a FF camera dropping below $2000.

Nostradamus would've disagreed with you.

Considering that you guys in US get rebates 24/7, it's part of the pricing.

#3: Never rated, makes me wonder how long it has been around and will be into the

IF your saying a full frame replacement of the 20D/30D then its not going to happen. You posted Sept 2005, so it would have to happen by Sept 2007.

Since the Canon Hong Kong website had the 40D added to its site for a short period today I dont think its gonna happen this year.

I paid $2700 for my 5D, less the 600 rebate makes it $2100.
It's deductable as a business expense(30%) which makes my cost $1200.

Oh my God, you must be Psychic2.

The 5D has held it's price remarkably well since it's release, Icant see it happening.
I wouldn't use Nostradamus as a reference, he didn't know what the feck he was talking about :-)
