I tooks some snaps of our goddaughter during a play date for the new puppies.

These were all taken with my new 30D and old 85 1.8 at f/2.8 ISO 100

1.

2. Shooting almost directly into the sun. I had a little glare, but it was manageable.

IMAGE: http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h89/TheSteveMadden/30D_00956_a_web.jpg

3. Playing around with a Sepia conversion, just to add a little variety.

IMAGE: http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h89/TheSteveMadden/30D_00887_web.jpg

4. A little antique effect I had to recreate as I'd lost my instructions. I caught her climbing the fence and asked her to wait a sec... hence "The Look"

Thanks for letting me share. Comments and suggestions always welcome and appreciated.

These are so precious, Steve! Loved #2...and #4--I do like your antiquing effect on that one.

Good job Steve. I really like #3. Very, very nice. Also, did you use a fill on #2 as well? I like the backlit look.

very nice set of images. She looks quite natural and relaxed, and she has a great "look" in each photo. especially fond of #3.

Thanks. I was using fill all day long, but had it dialed down -1 1/3 for fill and that really didn't help on #2. I had to adjust levels on her face using a layer mask plus some local contrast usm to get rid of the glare. You can still see the original exposure on her arm.

Dispite the risk of exposing my mistakes (no pun intended), here's the uncorrected version of #2 with it's ugly histogram...

Crikey. I just realized I typo'd the title. Should have been OUR, not out. Oh, well.

Those of you who know me know I don't often say this, so Wow. :) Very well done. What makes your shots from good to great is your use of lighting. So well done.
