Hello, I want to know from Canadians who have ordered from B&H if there getting charged suty on there items. The reason I ask is that in the past I've sometimes gotten charged and sometimes haven't. I'm ordering a Sigma APO 100-300mm F4 EX DG and from The Camrea Store its $1279.00CDN and from B&H it's a bit cheaper. I dont want to get stuck with a huge bill from the delivery man. Thanks.

If you use UPS Expedited you won't be charged anything extra except for maybe a $5 processing fee. UPS Expedited is an all inclusive rate including customs clearance.

You'll usually find that comparing UPS Expedited to UPS Ground will have the Expedited price much higher, but in the end you will save as you'll be murdered for customs/brokerage using UPS Ground

how much cheaper is it vs. thecamerastore?

you should give cameracanada.com a look too. they occasionally have good prices on some stuff.

IMO, sometimes buying local is better incase you get a dud. unless the difference is 100$

I agree with blam. I would much rather spend a little (<$100) more to get something locally. It is just so much easier to deal with returns/exchanges this way. Plus you pay and leave with the item in hand rather than wait. I shop locally at either McBain Camera or Don's Photo and they have pricematched The Camera Store and CameraCanada on numerous purchases.

yup, Pricematching thecamerastore has saved me lots of money and frustration with returns and exchanges. mcbain is great to deal with. (their prices just need to go down so I dont have to PM all the time!)

I'd do that for sure but theres only a few camera stores here and they don't carry much in stock. The prices they quoted me for this lense is a lot more then B&H and The Camrea Store. If the Camera Store was local I'd be all over that, but unfortunatly its not.
