I've seen posts here and in various other places regarding the extraordinarily long time it takes to get a picture once you "press the button." Has anyone experienced a similar problem where "pressing the button" simply doesn't get you a picture at all? I've probably had my camera for about 2 years and the problem has gotten progressively worse. It used to be a low battery signal, but now it does it with freshly charged batteries. I press the button and the camera makes a noise, but the shutter doesn't move and no image is captured. I'm starting to suspect it might be a problem with the mechanism that detects whether the flash is needed or not. I'm no longer able to have fellow tourists take pictures of me in these touristy places because I don't want to foist my technical troubles on unsuspecting strangers. But since you guys specialize in that kind of thing, maybe someone can help me out.
