At the least, you have some major downtime while the array is in a rebuild process, which is much more difficult than a RAID1. RAID 5 requires a minimum of 3 drives, while RAID 1 can be done with only 2.

If you're going to use 4 identical drives, use a 0+1 Array. It's a striped set on one pair, mirrored to the second pair. Is raid 0+1 the same as raid 10
