I would think it would be about a thousand times harder to photoshop that shot than to just snap the picture. Am I missing something?

I would think that it is 1000 times EASIER to photoshop that shot then to do it real :D Only the OP can clear that doubt I think but from what I see some of the positions of the people seem a little unnatural for it to have been "real" shot for eg: The guy with the water coming out of the glass - he seems to have jumped from the edge of the pool and still has both his feet pointing downwards high above the water - Most people would jump using one foot as leverage so the feet would not be in the position shown in the picture OR they could have jumped with both feet, but it would have been bent a bit at the knees when going to hit the water (unless you jumped from a higher point which doesnt seem to be the case here). A few small other things as well. I only see the the guy at the end of the pool (already in water) as being natural whereas everyone else has been added on. But then I can be wrong :)

If you are THAT good in Photoshop... I bow to the master! I need to take lessons from you. That looks like we're talking about a difference of hours worth of PS work as opposed to maybe 0.25 seconds of snapping the shutter. Not to mention the time setting it up with the proper background and getting the jumps just right. Sorry, I still say 1000 times more work to fake it. It's just a well timed fun shot.

LOVE This Shot!!! I'm going to try this angle at a wedding next weekend.

riyazi wrote in post #5788235 (external link)
Please tell me that this is photoshopped - at first glance it looks quite obvious that it is but then some of the comments from the other posters seem to indicate it is not which is making me doubt myself. But I am 90% sure that atleast most (if not all) have been photoshopped in

The image is not being displayed but I am talking about the shot with the guys jumping in to the pool - the first post on page 21.

I would be surprised if it is. I'd love to hear from the Poster of the Image...Billash3 - would you care to comment??

I say I'd be surprised for a few reasons. From Left to right...

1 - The girl on the left. If she is not jumping into a pool, she is going to be hurting when she lands on whatever it is she was jumping on. Her body position says, "I'm not going to get hurt by this."

2 - The guy next to her. Same thing. The bend in his knees suggests he is not planning on landing on a hard surface.

3 - The guy in the far back corner - looks like the only guy who had to be coorced into doing this. Looks tentative about hitting the water, and he is in the shallow end. Not to mention the splash! Very hard to photoshop!

4 - The group of folks on the right actually consists of 3 women and two men. The only part of the furthest woman we see is her face. (It is under the foremost man's arm).

5 - Closer to camera than her is the woman whose back we see.

6 - Next to that woman is the man doing the jackknife. A hard pose to shoot and then photoshop. His fingers are not bent under his weight, so he is not simply bending over in a "pike position". He has actually jumped into that position. Not likely over a surface other than water.

7 - Next is another woman whose face and body are hidden behind champaign man. All we see of her is her right hand.

8 - Finally, Champaign man. Getting that champaign photoshopped would be pretty difficult. Possible, but difficult.

Notice a few other things as well.

1 - They are all barefoot and Shoes are laying next to the pool.
2 - ALL of the women are wearing white.
3 - ALL of the men are wearing the same Tuxedo.

I don't think this is a wedding picture at all. I think this was taken at the end of a bridal gown photo shoot, when (from what I understand) it is pretty common to shoot a few "Trash the Dress" shots.

IF this were a wedding photo, I would think the Bride and Groom would be featured in some way. And I don't think all of the women would be wearing white. If it IS a wedding photo, I imagine this is the bridal party and the Bride and Groom abstained from this particular shot.

If it were photoshopped, I would think the photoshopper would have taken at least enough care to make sure that we could see more than just a face, a hand, or a back on the ladies.

I think it's real.

So, Billash3, how'd I do?

Now that I think about it, my viewpoint of that picture is a perfect example of Occam's razor... All things being equal, the simplest solution to the question is probably the correct one.

the sepia on that shot above looks really awesome!
how'd you do the fill light?
1x580 to the left to fill the face with a brolly and one to the right of camera to fill the dress?
