The title of the thread is different than the answers. I'm a toy freak and have too big a list to go through everything. But I currently carry in addition to the classic camera stuff. a GPS, cell phone, Epson p-5000, mini-mag. If going out-of-town I also carry a notebook and iPod.

You have to remember, I travel with a crew. I have 2 little sons and they use the ipod and the DVD player when I'm not. And my older sons shoot with me.

Realistically, the DVD player and iPod actually allow you the chance to shoot, rather than Mom.

Besides the every day kind of tech stuff, I own an iScooba and IRoomba; robots that clean carpet and clean tile floors. I also have a robotic cat box. Now that is the one tech thing that really works great. You fill it up with litter, the cats use it, this thing separates the cat "stuff" from the litter. About twice a week, I open a drawer at the bottom, take out a bag, easily insert a new bag, and the thing is good to go.

The floor cleaning robots are just so-so. My house is too big for them, folks with smaller rooms love them, so I will probably sell them off. But anyone wanting a useful automatic cat box, well, this thing I have is great, but a bit pricey!

I've go lots more gadgets, but those are the most interesting and unusual.

I move around in a 1990 Buick Century with 70,000 miles on it She is getting ugly with rust and breaking down at the wrong time A comfy ride and he S2 is likely worth more than the car. I always grab a n extra card on my way out the door. I change the batteries in the cam daily out of habit. I carry a cell phone on my belt mostly for driving a 17 year old car A pocket knife and my binoculars plus a birding field guide. If I have suficient sun sunshine I'm gone. Unless I'm here.

Aside from the mandatory cards, filters, lens cleaning stuff and batteries?
Plastic trash bag, dog food can lids, plastic throw-away poncho, cable ties, notebook, aspirin, mini-carabiners, Swiss Army Tool, steel tape measure off the top of my head. Some of those are obvious, others less so, but I have photo-related uses for all of 'em.

Reading glasses, cell phones and the like have to live on my belt or in my pockets 'cus I need 'em even when I'm not photographing.

Why do you just bring the lids for the dog food cans?

What's in your Gear Bag?

11 cents, a laser pointer, tic tacs, a couple of tampons and a McDonalds ketchup packet.

I believe in gadget segregation.

My bag has, mini first aid kit, swiss army knife, a few bic lighters, led flash light, poncho, pens and a notebook, and a few space blankets. This stuff is only in the bag when I go hiking in the backwoods of Wisconsin. Carried by my 94 Jeep Wrangler. I also carry a 9mm if I am going real deep into the middle of no where.(for bear encounters) Urban settings are just camera gear. Cell phone is always with me too.

No - I have a couple of 12" Photoflex Photodiscs in there that can double for that.
