Have an IXUS60 (POwershot SD600) but I find it lacking in ability to take a picture quikly and poor zoom
I want to retain reasonable size so feel s3 is out the question, any suggestions, what about the Powershot A710 IS or go mad - the G7

It takes great shots and uses easily obtained AA batteries. I use it when I don't want to carry the 30D, when I'm going to places I don't consider safe, and on the beach. I still use it for many things and never feel like I am compromising image quality when using it. When I go shooting with one of my good friends I bring my 30D and she shoots with the A620 and she always comes back with beautiful pictures. I also use it a lot for product phorography mounted atop a lightbox I made. I believe the newer A630 and A640 are also outstanding cameras. Robert

Most P&S cameras start in the range of 36 or 38mm (equiv). I have the Powershot S80 and I love it. I know it's a disco'd unit now, and I would prob consider the SD800 for one that is current and it has the wider angle lens.
