I am in your same shoes, only I decided to wait on it and ordered a lens you already have (the 70-300IS). With your 2X TC, what void are you wanting to fill with the big dog? IQ, I'm assuming? Seems like a good price coupled with the rebate, but man.......I just couldn't do it (.....yet :-)

yeah the IQ mostly, getting back the autofocus for the tc would be nice, although I am not sure I will use it much once I get to 400mm

I am going to play in a hockey tournament in Philly the end of march so I want to have it for that

I really want a 2.8 but the 70-200 2.8 IS is to much money and not enough reach, after that the 2.8 prices are nuts

I ordered a lens from them on 1/24 and it arrived on 1/25!! Now that is fast!! I only picked the cheapest UPS option 3-5 day shipping. I am in NY (upstate), but was amazed when the UPS truck pulled up.

Ditto here. I usually get one day for the price of regular shipping. Not far from NY to RI, but they don't waste any time getting stuff out. The hardest part is having someone to sign for it! Plus seeing the CC bill at the end of the month.

I often wonder why I so often buy near the end of the month rather than waiting until the 2nd of the manth and getting some extra time.
