I said I would post pictures, so I am. I couldn't get a good angle on the plane.

I thought the ones just down stream showing the ice in the river the recovery team had to deal with are more interesting.

We stumbled upon another photog and videographer doing a shoot for a magazine and blog. We stopped in and brought a crowd with us. Cool guys.

Cool one, Mike! Where was that from, and did you get your timing just right on that or what?

I mounted the camera on a tripod and had it set to burst with the wife manning (or womanning) the shutter cable. I told her to press the button when I said go, waited for the first shutter actuation then let I go with the sword. It only took four tries to get this shot. I want to try it with an apple or water ballon next.

A sword? I would have guessed and arrow. That's one of the reasons I was amazed at your timing. Granted, catching a sword at the moment of impact going through a bottle like you did is still a nice feat, but if you had nailed an arrow on 4 shots without a special trigger, I would have been totally impressed.

Still, I like the "explosion" you captured! Nicely done.

And what kind of sword? Are you a Renaissance man? ;)

It is a "wall hanger" Katana, stainless steel not carbon steel and not differentially hardened...but it sure cuts nice!
