I'll be in the Atalanta area (Newnan) in late September and early October visiting my sister and her husband.

We have visited once before but it was years ago.

I'm looking for day trips for that time of year that would be interesting to everyone but would have good photo ops.

I'd be interested in any POTN meet ups around that time also.

My wife is planning the trip. In the two weeks we are also making a car trip to Missouri to visit some of her family. We were thinking of stopping in Memphis on the way and then Nashville on the way back. Any thoughts about photo ops or must sees would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tom

I will be there! My whole family is spending the entire day at Lenox Mall. I'll be ditching them at night to shoot the fireworks. Was going to go last year but an emergency popped up.. had to leave before it started.

Do you know if they allow tripod use on the premise? I think i might stop by the security office to check first.

What's a good location to shoot from? :D

~John.

Edit: On a side note.. Who here is attending the third annual Worldwide Photowalk? I'm be tagging along on the group going to Piedmont Park.

No problem with tripods. I always wait until it's close to starting time until I get out the tripod. Pretty much anywhere halfway across the parking lot (and further) from the parking garage is good. I won't be going down there this year - going to stay closer to home.

Hey Marc! Good to hear from you! No Lenox for me, but I might do something closer to home. Last year in Duluth was fun, but I can't go to that one tomorrow.

I may be fascinated with volcanoes, but the name's Lisa.

Great! Do you happen to know where the fireworks go off? Is it fired from top of the mall where every angle gets a clear view?

Just wanting to scout a good spot to hang out if i know where it's going off.

John- all your logistics questions (which includes how to find me if you like) can be answered here (external link)

That shows how the show is setup and where the fireworks are launched from.

Lava- yes I'm still alive (barely).

If anyone else is coming please feel free to say hello!
