John- all your logistics questions (which includes how to find me if you like) can be answered here (external link)

That shows how the show is setup and where the fireworks are launched from.

Lava- yes I'm still alive (barely).

If anyone else is coming please feel free to say hello!

Wow thanks for the wonderful info! I'll probably drop by and say Hi Marc.

Hope y'all have a safe and fun 4th tonight. Here's a little slideshow from the fireworks at Sugar Hill last night:

http://www.flickr.com …s/72157624294818337/show/ (external link)

I am liking this show more and more every year, especially since I can be home in about 5 minutes after the show ends. Not nearly the amount of shells as Lenox, but they are spaced out further in between, making photography much easier.

I am in Forest Park, Yep, like others I wish there was a real camera store around. With the diminished capacity of Wolf/Ritz, cause there aint a speckle of real Canon stuff on their shelf, I guess the answer to a real camera store has to be Showcase camera Cheshire Bridge and Lavista. I passed through Manhattan on a return trip back from Cooperstown NY. I would have like to visited B&H but it was late in the afternoon and time was getting short and I did not have the $50 for paid parking

A great photo only starts with the shutter release,

I am in Athens, but I do not let that limit me. Dealing locally is nice. I am a sucker for
instant gratification.:D

Hey Doug, hows things? Still shooting Lanier Raceway?

I might make it up there sometime during this week, but I always avoid camp during the weekends- the crowds are annoying. I also see they have added rules against "professional" camera equipment- Isn't success wonderful? Win a few games and you get to start getting a big head.

Hey Marc, I'm doing good! Busy as a rat in a cheese factory and, nah, I had to give that gig up since I got my full time job. I do some shooting for "The Paper" of Braselton, Chateau Elan and Houschton doing freelance on Jackson County sports for them and other sports activities.

I'm probably going to go to FTC Monday morning and mow the grass tomorrow morning to do just that. I drove by today and saw the masses moving around and knew it would be tough to get any shooting done. The editor for the paper mentioned wanting to go out so I might try to get him out with me Monday so I can get media access. Keeping my fingers crossed!!
The "professional camera" line has been there for the past 3 years at least but they've never said anything to me. They don't know much about cameras so they're easily fooled.

Really nice shots there Doug!

Did you make it up to FTC this week? I wanted to get by there, but I couldn't get away from work. I'll be going to Friday Night Lights tomorrow at North Gwinnett though. I'm getting the camera gear ready tonight. :)

I may be fascinated with volcanoes, but the name's Lisa.

Thanks lava...no, I didn't make it. My brother and niece came down from North Carolina with the new great grand baby and went to see my Mother. I wanted to go to NG tonight but I just got back from south Georgia and needed some down time. Looking forward to seeing what you get!
