Atlanta, Georgia POTN'ers

For those that might be interested, Georgia Nature Photographers Association (GNPA) meets the 3rd weekend of the month at the Monsour Center in Marietta (next door to the big chicken). Hey Guys. I am a Maryland based photographer coming to Atlanta to do a workshop. Please pass the word to anyone you know who might want to take part in it!

Come take part in a fantastic photographic workshop on Sunday, January 16, 2011. Internationally published photographer Brian Landis will be showing no more than 10 photographers his techniques for lighting, posing and working with models. Sexy models Nicole Moser and Candleboxx will be on hand to help show these ideas. Dressed in latex fetish outfits or just plain nothing at all, they will make the day a fantastic event. All participants will get plenty of shoot time with both models and will have a chance to direct them and work the lights. Brian will be on hand to help during the participant's shooting to help with setup ideas and lighting tips and tricks. Photographers should walk away from this event with a ton of new techniques and ideas as well as some jaw dropping images of their own. The workshop will be help in Atlanta in a 13 acre industrial area complete with lots of great shoot spots. Access to the entire space is available. Private shoot sessions can be booked with the models after the 4 hour workshop and all of the spaces can be used. Time to get creative! Machines and latex? Sounds like a cool way to spend a Sunday. Image post processing will also be covered and after the event participants can book Brian for half hour private editing time. This is a great way to really see what you can do to make your images great and walk away from the workshop with some totally retouched images of your own. If any of you Atlanta folks get your hands on a copy of Atlanta Magazine for this month (Jan 2011), one of the photos I took at a HS football game in Nov is in there in the featured schools section, pages 60-61 to be specific. It's the shot smack dab in the middle of the page(s).

I guess now I can say I'm a published photographer in the Atlanta area!

Congrats! I see Atlanta Magazine from time to time, I'll keep my eyes peeled.

I'm visiting ATL and it's going to be snowing on Monday and Tuesday.. anyone know local parks and vantage points to do capture some great photos of Atlanta to show my family?

Whereever is walking distance. ATL cant handle the snow that is forecast, so driving is not going to be the most sane idea.

Piedmont Park is all I can think of and yes, Atlanta drivers don't do well in snow...but us country boys =]

If it's open I imagine it'll be one of the quietest days ever there - enjoy being able to get round it without 10000 other people.

Well there's always Olympic Park at the aquarium. You might also walk to the Peachtree Center (round glass building beside the Mariott) and ride the elevator (glass) to the top and get shots as well. There used to be a restaurant at the top, I don't know if it's still there or not.

I recently joined the forum and thought I would drop by and say Hi. I live in Kennesaw and am always up for going out and shooting anything and everything.

Looking less like freezing rain and more like good snow accumulation, so may be not too bad of a walk from the MARTA station to Piedmont Park.
