I was looking at this post:

and was wondering how they were seperated from the background.
I want to use this on some photos I have, but not sure the best way to do so. Thanks

Although the first shot it looks like something was cloned out of the bottom left. Do a search on masking as that is what you are after to seperate subjects from the back ground. Danny.
