I posted the pictures of the battle of the bands that i went to (and shared here) on a board with some of my buddies. Heres what was said:

Either you are a groupie, or you've got a hell of a lense on that camera....

5 steps to getting anywhere you want at a local venue of any kind without having $1550 of camera gear on you...:
Quote:

1. Buy a sheet of cardboard and small peice of plexie glass

2. Cut one section into a handheld size box, the bigger the better...but not too big. maybe 2 inches deep 5 inches wide and 4 inches tall

3. Cut another cube about an inch and a half thick, 2 1/2 inches wide, and 5 inches tall. Glue ontop of old box.

4. Roll cardboard into cylinder, the longer the better. Cut and glue circular peice of plexie glass inside of cylinder.

5. Glue this contraption to the front of your box.

You are now ready to get anywhere you want.

All joking aside, people look at the camera and they get out of my way, they make room and then ask stupid questions:

"Does that take good pictures man?"-no jack a**...i do.

"how much did that cost" $20...i figure the lower the number the less likely i am to get mugged

"what are you doing this for?"- The Chicago Tribune, so get the f***outta my way

"are you going to become a photographre?"- What the f***is in my hand jack a**?

"Is that digital?" yes...

"does it shoot movies?" No...

"what a peice of junk"- go drink a slurpy fat a**.
