The midgets are resting this weekend but our Pee Wee and Bantam teams hosted today. I shot a lot - mostly to get a kid-face so the parents could have something. We're outdoors and it was a bright day. The shadows were a problem. Never thought I would complain about too much light! Anyway, I won't bore you with all the shots. Here is a quick sample from the Pee Wee game. Light was best here - the game started at 11:30AM. I converted the raw to jpg using DPP - nothing else done.

I really enjoy the Pee Wees. There was a lot of action in this game.

Oh my gosh, an outdoor rink!! i'm so jealous! Look at those nice, bright sharp photos!! My oldest son has been playing for 13 years now in dark dreary rinks. No outdoor rinks in Southern California, believe it or not. I can see that the sun/shade issue would be a challenge, but how wonerful to have all that light!! With the fast moving Midgets and adults you must capture some great action.

When the weather is cooperating there isn't a better place to play hockey. Yesterday was beautiful - about 15 deg F and very little wind. Sun was a bit of a problem for the players.

I posted all of the photos, primarily for parents to get some prints. If you are interested, take a look (external link) and feel free to leave comments.

Sorry - that link is a bit hidden:

C&C are always welcome but please keep in mind that if I got a face or the shot had mildly interesting action I put it up. I didn't do any PP - I let the parents request the photo first.
