No guarantees, but I'm thinking of getting the 30D replacement, relegating my 20D to backup duties, and selling my Drebel.

This, of course, presumes that the new features are significant.

But then, a cracker (biscuits to the Brits) bakery to complement Belmondo's cheese venture could be interesting - Whaddya think, Tom?

Have Fun,

Sounds like a plan, Rick.;)

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

joeg...I guess that would fit the bill of answer #5. Maybe a mod could add your choice, as well...as I don't beleive that I can edit the poll choices?

Added pro and non-pro "If it's worth it" options, but maybe you'd like to start the count over given the number of votes so far?

Every new EOS model has been better in many respects. 1D Mark II is relatively old in digital evolution and even though it is very good tool I would gradly pay for a new version with less noise (both acoustical and digital), more versatility (crop factors, UI) and faster speed (AF, cards, OS). I have no doubt Canon will address all issues that needs to be addressed and produce something that will be worth the admission price.

Thanks jon, for the added options.

Pekka, I am sure they will. I figure by the time PMA comes around (another month, and a few days) that Canon will have released something new, or have the intent to do so. New technology keeps getting better and better...but sometimes, it takes a backseat (ala the 50mm 1.2L -- didn't exactly bomb, but then again, didn't exactly make Canon a Fortune, I don't believe).

We shall see...about the cheese and cracker/biscuit company venture...hehe.

<-- Useless sidenote: This is post 831 for me...my b'day!

Just wanted to revive this poll...given that Canon finally announced the 1DMkIII. Now will you be making the switch?

I won't be, but just wanted some more opinions.

I won't. Not enough advantages. The things that will make me upgrade would be increased dynamic range, or a significant leap in high ISO performance. Otherwise, I'm all set with the 1DsMkII and 1DMkII.

I see no reason to upgrade a body apart from getting a better sensor. Ease of use, faster shooting, more functions, better focusing; for me, forget it. I'm good enough, for me, with my 300D. Better IQ is the only reason. I'm looking to get the lenses first then will wait for a better IQ body.
