Very good B/W conversions!

In the first, my attention tends to follow the stream, but this one is cut at the right of the picture and my attention goes outside your photo. It would have been nice if the crop was a bit further to the right to include one last splash!

If I were to critique this as a portrait picture, your second picture is nice for a portrait, but I would prefer a deeper DOF and less strong shadows to the left of the face. Then again, this is the experimental section and I do still like the photo!

I like the portrait picture. I agree that the left side of the face has to much of a shadow.
