Well, I owned the G3 & G6 . . . for overall picture quality, i would go with the G3. I noticed my G6 pictures were noisy even at low ISO . . . If I were to get one of them back, i would probably go for the G3

Before I vote, 3 questions:-
Why have you excluded the one truly groundbreaking G camera?
Why have you included one G that never actually existed?
Why have you included one camera that is a G in name only?

Do you think it would really get any votes?

No wonder it has not gotten any votes.

Because it is a 'G' in name.

Well, most reviews have the G3 trumping the 5 in quality, but I don't know about the rest. How many must you have owned to vote?

However we vote here, the historical/technical/sales facts are:-

(a) the G1 singlehandedly changed the marketplace, and will stand as a digital milestone
(b) As Rowdyred says, the G5 will stand as a digital millstone.

Anyone bet against the G7 echoing the Pro1 ? (= halving in price and disappearing inside 12 months).

This is a very immotive subject, so to prevent any disharmony lets all vote for the G4, Bigfoot and the Loch Ness monster :)

Looks like it's becoming a popularity contest, like most online polls.

It would probably be difficult to have this as anything BUT a popularity contest. I'm not sure how many people here have owned multiple G series cameras, so apart from voting for the one you currently own it's difficult really assess what is "the best"

Well, my 2p...

The G2 was amazing at its time.
The G3 maybe still has the best overall picture quality (if you don't need extreme high resolutions).
The G7 is, of course, the most sophisticated model - I mean, it's the newest.

But the G5 is the most professional, I suppose. And it is the prettiest! ;)

My tools? 5D & 40D with many lenses...

Isn't the G5 identical to the G3 except for a denser ccd?

...and consequently a poorer performance :)
