Thinking about a lensbabies 3g

I think it looks neet, havnt found a whole lot of stuff about it or samples. Anyone around here using and like it? Found fun or good uses for it?


Gear List? My gear is bigger than yours? Just shoot have fun...

I have the 2.0 version. Its fun for messing around, but I haven't gotten good enough to actually use it when its important.


5d, 7d, 12-24, 17-55 2.8 IS, 28 1.8, 50 1.8, 70-200 2.8 IS, 85 1.8, 100 2.8 macro

I bought one and used it a few times. Having the ability to lock the thing down and then make final focus adjustments is worth the extra cost, IMO. I am selling mine though (https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php​?t=269458), because I need to fund another purchase.

Here's a photo I made with the 3G that I would have had a lot of trouble getting without the "lock down, then final focus" feature.

The 3G is a lot easier to use but is more delicate. The metal screws have to be protected. I would still prefer the 3G but it also costs more. ( I will bet you already knew that last tidbit). The 2 and 3 have the same lens elements. Close up kit is worth a look.
