Other than price and the fact the non Slim does not have a front thread and is 3mm in thickness is there a reason to buy the slim version?

some lenses are so wide that you could potentially see the filter's edge. Some say it can help reduce vignetting, but I don't know about that.

The slim filters don't accept lens caps very well if at all.

16-35, 24-70 and 70-200 all on a 30D atm FF eventually, im thinking get a slim filter for the 16-35 and non for the other lenses.

damn thats a huge price differences on all filters compared to B&H. Only issue i see is their shipping costs and delivery time, hmm decisions and calculator time.

UV you don't need slim for the 24-70 or 70-200 even on FF. I don't know about the 16-35, as I haven't got that one, using the Sigma 15-30 instead.

The only lens you need a slim for is the 16-35 on FF....on the 30D you can get by with a regular.
