Where's the option to vote for neither?
If I do use my P.O.T.N. strap it's only so that I can sling the camera over a shoulder... I almost never put the strap around my neck, since I find that it hinders more than it helps.

So I'm back to using the Canon neck strap, Slingshot AW200 backpack or nothing.

I always keep the "neck" strap around my neck or over a shoulder unless the camera is in the bag or on a tripod. The hand strap is fantastic for controlling the camera. Skip Douglas

I wrap it around my wrist for stability. Does the handstrap allow you to switch between horizontal and vertical easily? The handstrap sounds good but only if I can switch easily. This is exactly what I do and I have the same questions. I can't hang that thing around my neck.

It is true that the handstrap can at times limit your freedom of movement when needing to make exposure adjustments, but you can always loosen the strap a little more to mitigate that. I've loosened mine to the point where I can comfortably make aperture adjustments, etc., but still have the handstrap function in the way that it was designed to do. Sometimes if my hand isn't already inside the handstrap and I'm going for a critical shot, I find it quite easy and unobtrusive to simply put my hand over the handstrap and shoot away. ~Spaceships Don't Come Equipped With Rear View Mirrors~

At least for me it is anyway. I find myself constantly rotating from "landscape" to "portrait" mode using the handstrap. ~Spaceships Don't Come Equipped With Rear View Mirrors~

As far as the neck strap goes I purchased a POTN one to support the forum but don't use it. The 500 f/4 rarely comes off and the strap gets caught on things too easily.

I found that it is way too short for me. I bought a Tamrac strap that is usually hanging down from my camera. I have the battery grip and tend to just carry my camera in my hand. I've (I know I shouldn't say this jim
