Howdy,

The assignment in the photo class I'm taking is "smooth".

I'm having a tough time coming up with ideas. Have you got any suggestions for me?

Thanks.

I see a guy getting a girl's phone number. You shoot over the right shoulder of the guy and catch the girl looking into the eyes of the guy. Guy in foreground should be slightly out of focus. Focus on the girl's eyes. Pen and piece of paper help tell the story. Make a narrative out of the word smooth. You could also go in the opposite direction with this and photograph something or someone that is obviously not smooth. Somone tripping, etc.

Good luck. I have taken photo classes like this. Wide open assignments. Have fun with it.

Or how about this, A guy and girl dancing, the direction of the shot would be from behind the guy , the girl looking directly into the guys eyes and smiling right hand on his shoulder, left hand slipping his wallet out of his pocket.

Thanks for the good ideas.

What do you think about shooting heavy, viscous, golden motor oil being poured?

Babys Butt, Hand caressing silk, long exposure of flowing water, just a few random literal suggestions.

Pouring cognac into a nice brandy snifter, melting chocolate, the surface of a bowling ball or balloon...

Thanks for the ideas. I'm going to go to a car dealership this weekend and see if I can spot a salesman who would fit the description of "smooth".

I think I'll also give molasses and chocolate syrup a try.

If a miracle occurs and I get a good shot I'll post it.
