I read that once a "collection" has been created in Adobe Bridge you can select someting called "update live" such that very time you label a photo with that collection label the collection will be automatically updated. Where is the button that enables "collection live"?

Second question - if I modify an original photo in Adobe Bridge and save it will it be saved as a version to the original photo or will the original photo be repalced with the modified photo?

Any help would be appreiated.

Bridge doesn't do "collections." Bridge is not a DAM application with cataloging -- its a browser that allows you to apply labels/ratings/keywords. Bridge will allow you to assign keywords, and once assigned, keywords can be used immediately as part of a search for that keyword. Other than that, I'm not quite sure what you're asking for in #1.

For #2 -- Bridge itself doesn't modify a file (other than the metadata). If you open a RAW file, either with ACR alone or with ACR into CS2, you can make your processing choices and have those preferences saved to a XMP file without making any direct modifications to the CR2 file (enough TLA's for you ;) -- three letter acronyms). If you open a different format (TIFF, PSD, JPG), its up to you to watch the file name and make sure it's saved the way you want it. Again, Bridge itself doesn't edit the file. Your editor, presumably ACR or CS2 modifies the file. Neither of those applications does "versioning."

Hope this helps.
