70-200/f2.8 IS here. Did have the non-IS f4 before that.

Interesting, at least at the point I voted, that the vast majority of responders split evenly between the cheapest and most expensive options. ;)

F2.8 IS for me. I had the F4 first, but just could not use it indoors at all.

I have the 2.8 IS version and I have to say it is my most used lens. It is just so versatile and just seems right for most occasions. Maybe it's just me, but this is a great lens.

f/4 non IS -- Have had it since I used to own my 20D. Wouldn't trade it...though. I have considered selling it...but, I see no reason to. It's a lens that both the wife and I like, for what we take pictures of, during the year.

70-200/f2.8L IS
Have had it for over 3 years now.
It replaced my 75-300 IS and was the last of the f2.8zoom triplet for me to get and also the last L zoom I have bought. Been getting primes slowly since then for specific applications.

It is a wonderful runway, outdoor model and concert lens.

I have the f4 non IS; purchased about 2 months before the IS version was formally announced. I have been thinking about trading up to the IS version. I haven't investigated, so I don't know how the dollars will work out.
