Here's few photos from Tuesdays Alpine skiing slalom World Cup in Schladming, Austria. It was night race under artificial light, and if I could decide, all skiing races would be done this way. It's just so easy too shoot. But enough talking, here's photos :)

Poppy colors. Ski racing looks like a blast to shoot.

Great photos, very sharp. Can you describe the lighting to me. I was just at a night time Half Pipe compatition under artificial light and my shots turned out horriable. The again, I didn't have the luxury of stopping down to 2.8 :(

Hmm... how to describe lightning? Especially since my English is far from perfect :) Anyway let's try :) First of all it's not normal light for night skiing, but it's more powerful. Since this is World cup, this means there's tv with live sending, so light has to be better. On top of that snow works like giant reflector which bounces light back so soon you have feeling like you would be working with giant strobes :)
And just to get idea how many lights there was, check this photo (external link). This is from finish area up the hill where race was. You can see lights on "towers" on each side of the course.
