Not intending this to become another Canon Rebate program blows thread but it seems that so many people have had problems.

I was just wondering the ratio of successes to problems. I realize you may have had full success one time and not another so please choose your answer based on your worst experience. Anyway your response is valued at least by me if not anyone else. Please participate.

Thx

Then you should have answered 'Had a problem in the past but - Got full payment.' . Not the 'Never a problem' reply that you did. Jeez.. problems right out of the gate.

Hey Reef, thanks for starting this poll. I was tempted to do it myself. Btw, this is my fourth or fifth rebate adventure and haven't had a problem yet. I just checked the rebate site and they are processing my full rebate w/no errors.:):) With so many threads here and at dpreview about rebate problems I was getting anxious. *knocking on wood*

Hi,
I bought the 100mm 2.8 macro + the 430 speedlite in nov 06. Just got my rebate now, but only for $30 (suppose to be $80). I called them and asked why and they said that I didn't send them the UPC code. I said I did and the guy told me he'll send me the money. BTW this is my first rebate. I recently bought the 24-105L and he told me that I won't get a double rebate on that one. So sad...

I just sent mine in last week, unfortunatley I expcet problems but have enough proof to fight them if need be for my $410. I have another for three more lenses to send in, figured I'd stagger the rebates. Time will tell so I haven't voted yet, but this is a great poll.

Just recieved mine today in full :) They do take all the time they say it will take to process the rebate 6-8 weeks though. It took the full 8 weeks.

The only weird thing is about 3 weeks ago I recieved an email saying the rebate was in the final process before the check would be sent. So I checked the site that has updates on how the process is going and it said the same thing as the email. Im thinking cool no problems. Then 2 days ago I recieve another email stating that it will be another 6-8 weeks before I get a check. Now I go sh** so I go check the status on my rebate and it says check shipped and I recieved it today.
So don't always believe the emails they send you, check the rebate status site it seemed to be pretty acurate.

Well as suspected most people get their rebates without issue BUT it is a little unnerving that almost 40% have some kind of problem. Sounds a little like they have institutionalized making problems for folks. It's hard to believe that many people make a mistake submitting their rebate.

Granted the poll is hardly scientific and the sample is small compared to the amount of people that frequent the forum. (524 currently online as of this posting).
