The Canon Museum lists 4 18-55mm lenses, how do you tell which is which?
18-55mm
18-55mm USM
18-55mm II
18-55mm II USM
Doesn't really matter, but I was curious and thought someone might know.

The II models will have a II on the face of the lens somewhere after the canon and aperture labeling. The USM ones focus a little faster and quieter, and those lenses tend to go for maybe $30 over the regular kit lenses. Past Equipment | My Personal Gallery

Japanese kit lenses came with USM and USM versions are available for sale separately elsewhere. Gallery: http://tomyi.smugmug.com/
