Macro Flash Canon or SIgma? Sigma unkown to me.

I have been looking at both the Canon MR-14EX and the Sigma 140-DG and I guess I am asking is if the Canon flash is worth the extra hundred dollars or if the Sigma will do just fine for a first time ringlight user? I am only interested in those two I think.

And also can the Canon act as a master for my 430ex?

I have the 100 macro right now and probably with in the year I plan to also have the MPE 60.

Does anyone know these flashes and can offer some advice? And anyone have any examples from the Sigma? Thank you.

I'm not very familiar with either unit. I would suggest you study the features and specs of both carefully, and if there is any terminology you don't understand, feel free to ask.

I own a few Sigma flash units (their regular model, not a macro unit), and they're pretty good units for the money, but sometimes there are differences in features that may or may not be valuable to you.
