Took the camera out on a hike today to Red Rock National Conservation Area just west of Vegas. Enjoy!

Good pictures! I enjoy pictures like your first one. Not your typical landscape shot! I like going out there... I hear there is a water fall somewhere out there. Do you know anything about one being there?


BODIES: 30D (IR) 40D, 5DmkII, 1DmkII
LENSES: 16-35L II, 24-70L, 50 1.4, 85 1.8, 70-200L II, 300 2.8, 600 F/4...oh and a 10-22 EF-s... nice lens.

ya think? I like the seperation of the foreground and background. It was also an experiment to try out the bokeh on my 70-200, not that I thought it wouldn't be good, I just hadn't put it thru it's paces yet.

Looks like he was trying to control the depth of the focal plane, such that the foreground was isolated from the background. Seems to have worked, too.


"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.
