Very nice series Keith, You must have been on your belly taking these shots to get that angle. I really like the turnstone.

Wonderful shots Keith - I'm torn between the 100 - 400 or the bigma for my next lens, I thought I'd settled on the bigma but these shots have got me thinking again

yep, I was indeed flat on my front for some of these - sometimes you've got to suffer for your hobby!

Very nice series of shots Keith, my favorite is the Ruddy Turnstone.

We grew up playing Rook (the card game) and this is the first time I've ever seen a shot of one....looks just like the one on the back of the playing cards

It is the Turnstone, and the Rook, for me as well Keith. All nice shots but there is something decidedly iffy about the second Starling shot. Looks like its got hair gel on !

Very nice Keith and thats twice today I am reminded how handsome Starlings can be when photographed in the right light and in the right poses.

The turnstone is my favourite too, as it happens.

Excellent series Keith. The Sanderling is my favorite, although I love the shots of the Starling.

the sanderling is a bit of a "love it or hate it" thing really - it's not like most of my sanderling pictures.

There wasn't a huge amount of light available when I took this (well, there was enough to give me 1/1000 at f/6.3 and 400 ISO) but it was ambient, rather than direct).

No risk of blowing highlights then, but it resulted in a very monochrome picture (I've really boosted the saturation on this just to get a hint of colour into it).

I quite like the "arty" feel to it, but I wasn't sure about posting it...
