After being influenced by SteveG's awesome work here, I felt compelled to make one for my own guitar. Its my epiphone les paul. Shots were taken with my trusty G6 in macro and supermacro mode, and a desklamp on my floor. Post (lots of it) was done in photoshop. Please C&C, and dont be afraid to be harsh.

I think it is a great montage and the only part I'm not very keen on is the phono plug. It might appear cleaner without it and to have one of the other images larger to compensate?

I like the revised version a lot better. I also find that the phono plug steals the show, but it's still part of a guitar. Maybe switching for another pic? Personally, I would leave the current layout as is, but would try to have a more significant pic in the center. Maybe a full view of the guitar?

Thank you for your comments. I do agree that the plug does seem out of place and doesnt seem to really fit in with the rest of the theme. I've replaced that photo and think that it works better. Let me know what you guys think.

As soon as I saw these pics, I knew I was going to mention the little plug thing in the center....but I'm too slow for that!

The latest edit is definately the best out of the three.

Nice work!

Thanks all. I feel like a stickler for saying this, but is there anything else anyone can suggest that I could do/try? Its been a while since I worked on a project, and I feel a little rusty.

Hiya,
great montage idea and a good subject also....but hows about trying a smaller outline around each frame (maybe half of what you have at the moment. I think it might look a lot cleaner.

Just my thoughts

Great montage. I would try maybe instead of the plug hole, a pickup or the pickguard.
My 2 cents.

You could go to Music Center and ask to "borrow" a Marshall full stack and a Gibson Les Paul Supreme! :). or My favorite the SG les Paul.

Paul007: I was contemplating that when I was making it, and will definitely try that out.
Memorex: I tried some pics of the humbucker, but it didnt really work for me. but it might have just been me. I'll give it another try.
acdcrocks: Dont put such ideas into my head  .... doh, too late. :D
