Think the wider angle shot #3 works best :)

Welcome to the POTN forums, good start with the images. #1 is too OOF (out of focus). #2 has great potential, I like the colours and angle, the only criticism is that the eyes aren't pin sharp. Try taking this image again. Maybe a bit more DOF (depth of field) would help as well. The 3rd shot works the best, as the images are. Is this type of snake poisonous?

They were actually shot with a Panasonic FZ7  with some cheap Diopters. +1,+2 and +4 stacked. My first photos after actually learning to use them properly.

The snake isn't poisonous,only 1 year old,bout 3 and a half feet long.

I thought I recognized that effect. I got a couple of those, too. I have a really hard time making the shot sharp...I find that those things really spread the light around, and give me a lot of "ghosting" if I can call it that. I found the best solution was to limit it to just one diopter thing. They're hard to use, I find.

But I agree, I like #3 the best. It's best composition-wise, and for sharpness. Keep it up!
