No, no flash on any of the car show pics. There was already enough glare on the cars from the overhead lights- the flash just added to the glare. I went with ISO 1600 with no flash.

I upgraded from the 350D. It's a wonderful upgrade. Worth every cent. I still have the 350D, whenever I handle it, it feels like a toy. I shoot primarily sports, so I got the 30D. I could have really used a 5D for the show, though. I've been doing a lot of indoor stuff- portraits mainly over the dead of Winter. I'm going to get the 5D this Fall I think.

I went to the philly car show today... lighting is a b**** for sure! Especially in the "dub" room... I guess it is the atmosphere in there though. But on the main floors sometimes the lighting just isn't right. Then again, it is a convention center, not a car show center designed for photographers.

Did anyone here eat at the R. Terminal for lunch? Carman's makes good subs/sandwiches.

hi, im bill... and i like photography.

It's tough with a lot of ppl but with clever angles and a little patience, you can almost eliminate ppl out of your shots. I actually don't mind using a flash but when I return to SEMA this year, I'll probably do without the flash and bring along something a lot wider but with some zoom--I don't only take pictures of cars if you know what I'm saying!

These were taken with a 350D w/ a 28-135 IS back in November @ SEMA. Now that's one crowded show! No PP done...straight out of camera, just resized.

The lighting wasn't that bad- I got pretty good results there without a flash.
