Not a waste if you need that extra stop to get the shot instead of a blurry mess. Noise, you can do something about. Subject or camera blur you can't.

anyone have a 4gb card in their cam? i saw some 4gb ones on ebay and i want to make sure they're work in the a630 before i buy it... dont want to get screwed and end up wasting money :)

If they're SD-HC, they should.
BUT read the sticky on counterfeit cards on eBay.

I think a lot of people choose to go with smaller cards ie 1GB or 2GB since then, if something happens to the card, you don't loose tons of photos. For the price difference, I think sticking to a well known brand name might not be a bad idea.

It doesn't say SD-HC. Don't get it. An SD-HC card will say SD-HC, and any card you buy that's more than 2 GB should be SD-HC.

Get two 2gig cards? Save some cash, have a fallback in case of failure, and they'll definitely work. :)

well i did get 3 1gb cards when i got my cam so i guess i'll just keep them now :) i didnt really think of having a backup card "just in case" .... thanks :D
