Small question about camera packaging

I received a canon SD630 Elph as a gift. The camera came in a box without plastic shrinkwrap, and the foam container in which the actual camera came did not have tape over it as electronic packaging usually does (only one of the items, the wristrap, had tape on it). This is normal, isn't it? I know this seems paranoid, but I'm just trying to make sure I didn't receive a refurbished camera as opposed to a brand new one.
