Short battery life for Canon S series cameras

I have an older canon s200 camera. The original battery doesnt hold charge for long. So I bought a new (canon) one. After a while the "new" battery starts to not hold charge for long. So I bought another (canon) one. Same thing happened. I am starting to suspect something is wrong with the camera. Perhaps even when the camera is off, it is draining charge from the battery? Does anyone have similar experience with the canon s series of camera? Battery model is NB-1L.

Checked your charger out? It may not be giving a full charge.

i don't know about your battery, but my brother owns an a620, it uses 4 aa rechargable batteries... He noticed that batteries didn't last long, so he charged the same batteries with my charger, and problem solved...

You should consider maybe, your charger is not working properly... If you could charge the same batteries with another charger, then you'd know for sure if the camera is the problem, or the charger itself
