Just thought I'd add a few - any advice, tips etc greatfully received

On all occasions I used Canon 20D and 100-400L IS USM setup

I love silouette (sp?) pictures. The first one is really nice, especially since you can see the fuel/heat vapors coming off of it. Nice Work. Also number 3 is a great picture. What did you use to capture these photos to include your lens?

I like the first one the best. Maybe soften up the edges in two and three...but I am no pro.

#1 is really nice, be nicer if it was a WWII warbird!! #2, just too much dark area in the photo. #3 is nice, but it almost looks fake. I have never seen as F-18 that clean, there is no dirt or grime anywhere.

Thanks guys, I agree with you all about number 1 - my fav too ! As for the F-18 looking fake, I can asure you 100% that all i have done to this photo is resized, contrast and sharpened - I have never seen an aircraft that clean but the raw file show exactly the same - if i could post the raw I would ! Guess they must have cleaned it !

I am guessing the Super Hornet was at RIAT or Farnborough last year. Since it was going to a trade show, it was in mint condition.
