Modified Speedrings to fit Alienbees?

I know a few people here have done it. I just recieved some amvona softboxes and i'd like to modify their speedrings to fit my b800s. it fits, but its not that secure.
i ordered the alienbees speedring, but i want to try these out and i dont really feel like waiting for them to arrive.
im not too handy, so the odds are that i'll destroy these speedrings, but if someone could post a tutorial or a walkthough on what exactly i should damage with my dremel.
