Some need instructions like the blinds, other not so much. Just have to make sure they are comfortable doing what you ask them to do.

I asked the groom to stand with his back to the bride and she had to lean towards him...
Here I asked John to teach Tammy how to play the guitar..haha ![]() Here the photo I was going for was the last one, her looking at me, him looking at her...the other two evolved as they were standing there: I'm loveing these Svetlana! Jeni

This family was so fun they were rockin so many different ideas so I asked them to all pretend to fight and I got this one snapped. This picture the people were just walking in front of me and I told them to stop and just talk to each other for a second about how the day was going, i asked them to hold hands and then just tell each other how the day was going and I snapped this. Sometimes the most casual moments between a bride and groom reveal the best photographs.

If I want her sitting on that log, I'll sit on it first, showing her where I want her legs, arms, hands. Monkey See, Monkey Do is so very effective. FamilyJules, you are absolutely right on that. It takes me a 30 seconds to SHOW them a pose and then tweak it when they mimic it, or 5 minutes to try to direct them into it. I shoot a lot of babies and I keep a flexible baby doll on hand to show the parents how I want the baby positioned. Monkey see, monkey do is a great way to put it. Sue Cassidy

"go over there and just relax, talk about your day for a minute" a lot of times you get great stuff. and being funny does help. I told all the guys to start getting "gangster on my ass" the "look down" when used sparringly is always nice, highlights the lashes, gives a nice feel
