Just wondering how much memory each of you own and if you buy enough for just one day or enough for an entire "outing."
For the poll, I'm trying to get an idea of how much memory you have in total for your SLR.

SYS Cream of the Crop More info | Feb 05, 2007 17:30 | #3 I currently own only 2gb, but when I travel in the near future, I'll probably have about 5gb which is more than enough for a day's shooting. I always carry my laptop when travelling and that's where I empty my images anyway after a day's shooting, so I don't need more than 5gb.

(I shoot solely in raw so though it seems like a lot, on the 5D that's about 850 shots +/-) .. It's Permie's world, we just live in it! ~CDS

I have three 256 ultra II's and I think they were $69 each, then I payed $198 for a 1gig Ultra II then about a two months later the price dropped to $99 a gig and I picked up another. 60D, Canon 18-135 IS, Sigma 10-20 hsm, 24-70 2.8 hsm, 70-200 2.8 hsm, 430EX II, and all the other stuff that goes along with it.

When I created the poll, I didn't think I needed to be more granular past 20GB, but it seems that there are a decent amount of people with over 20GB. Just wondering why you would need that much memory. The only thing I can think of is if you don't have the ability to transfer to a laptop or some other form of media.
