Just wondering how much memory each of you own and if you buy enough for just one day or enough for an entire "outing."

For the poll, I'm trying to get an idea of how much memory you have in total for your SLR.

I currently own only 2gb, but when I travel in the near future, I'll probably have about 5gb which is more than enough for a day's shooting. I always carry my laptop when travelling and that's where I empty my images anyway after a day's shooting, so I don't need more than 5gb.

for my 5D I keep 14GB (3x 4gb and 1x 2gb) for my day trips and if I'm on vacation I take my epson p4000 to download them to, if I run out. (I shoot solely in raw so though it seems like a lot, on the 5D that's about 850 shots +/-)

When I first started buying memory it was still pretty expensive. I have three 256 ultra II's and I think they were $69 each, then I payed $198 for a 1gig Ultra II then about a two months later the price dropped to $99 a gig and I picked up another.

60D, Canon 18-135 IS, Sigma 10-20 hsm, 24-70 2.8 hsm, 70-200 2.8 hsm, 430EX II, and all the other stuff that goes along with it.

A bunch, not counting HDD and DVD writing capabilities. Something like 25-30 gb, I think.

25gb CF Media (10x2gb, 1x4gb,1x1gb) for 1Ds, 1Dmk2n, 20D
10gb SD Media (3x2gb, 4x1gb) for 1Dmk2n

During a race weekend or music festival weekend, it is easy to use this much memory and more...and there isn't always down time enough to d/l the images to another drive.

Holy crap. When I created the poll, I didn't think I needed to be more granular past 20GB, but it seems that there are a decent amount of people with over 20GB. Just wondering why you would need that much memory. The only thing I can think of is if you don't have the ability to transfer to a laptop or some other form of media.
