I am in that 12-16GB capacity, but only because I have 3 portable drives as well (a 30GB, 40GB and 80GB, although I usually only take the 40 or 80GB on trips these days)

I have 4x 2GB Sandisk Ultra II CF cards which are my primaries and I usually go through them 3 to 4 times during a model shoot. Add in 2x 1GB CF cards, 1x 1GB SD card, and 3x 256MB CF cards, 1x256 SD, 1x 128MB SD, 1x16MB CF and 1x8MB CF. And I almost forgot the 340MB CFII IBM micro drive.

Catch me in mid-March and I will probably have about 16-24GB more as I plan on getting 1x 4 or 8GB SD cards and 1 or 2x 8GB CF cards for a 34 day trip I am taking in April. When I leave the ship for the day I want to take just the camera, 1 spare CF card and maybe one spare lens. If I break down and get the 28-300L for the trip, then I won't be taking a spare lens. With 2x8GB CF cards and a spare 4GB SD card in the camera, I doubt very much even I can fill up that much in 1 day of touristing. In any event if I have to switch to the SD card I will also be dropping to L or M1 jpegs only at that point unless we are on the way back to the boat.

(2) 2 GB cards. I am thinking of getting a 4 GB, but don't know why, except I haven't bought anything this week yet. :)

I've lost count.. I just found out I had a 4GB Ri-Data I don't even remember getting.. the prices on some of the sales these days are so amazing I usually can't resist. :)
But I'm in the "over 20GB" range.

I got a 512MB as my first card, when I bought my first Drebel. Then I got a 1GB card for Christmas one year, bought another 512 in a pinch from Walmart one time, and then bought a 2GB Sansdisk on special for the same price as the 512MB card from walmart. So 4 GB in all, which is plenty for me. Only event photography is my daughters gymnastic meets.

Currently 14gb - it's not too hard to use it all in a full day of shooting RAW. Still waiting for a big sale on 4gb sandisk cards.

I've got a total of 16.2 Gb, but it's spread across three cameras. I keep a 4Gb Lexar Pro, two 4Gb hitachi Microdrives and a 1Gb Delkin Pro with my 20D, my wife uses my old D60 and has two 1Gb Delkin Pro cards and three 256Mb San Disk cards. We have a little-used Canon A70 P&S and keep two more 256Mb San Disks with it. I don't interchange the cards between cameras because it has a tendency to foul up the camera's file numbering.

I've got 1-4GB, 1-1GB in Extreme III, same in Ultra II and a 4GB Microdrive for backup. I don't like using the Microdrive that much because my battery life suffers, but now I've got 3 batteries for my 5D so I should be good! Going to RAW, and those 13 MB files eat up cards like a kid with candy! By the way, Ultra II and Extreme III cards are on sale at Amazon.com, very nice prices! 4GB Ultra II $72!!!
