Anyone have experience with shooting wine bottles? I'm not talking about artistic pictures, these are for product shots.

I was thinking of using a soft tent for overall light and then placing the bottle (if a white or rose wine) on a stand that has a light shining up through the bottle.

Any other suggestions?

Here's an article (external link) on the Strobist site that might give you a few ideas.

The slip of board or paper behind the bottle might work, I'll give it a whirl.

Any other suggestions?

Use large light source (softbox or panel) and large white reflectors to PLACE highlights on the surface where they are needed. And use a dark shooting area and/or BLACK panels to REMOVE unwanted reflections.

If you have the time, go buy "Light - Science and Magic, Second Edition: An Introduction to Photographic Lighting" by Fil Hunter (Author), Paul Fuqua (Author)

http://www.amazon.com …ic-Lighting/dp/0240802756 (external link)

This book contains everything you need to know about lighting glass and much much more.

Although Wilt summed it up nicely :)
